About

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog! I wish we could share a cup of tea and get to know each other. At the least, I’ll introduce myself.

After years of living in other states, I was happy to come back ‘home’ to the high desert of the southwest U.S. I grew up here and the lure of clean, dry air, stunning landscapes, and great open spaces drew me back.

My husband and I raised a daughter, and we’re grateful she’s still around to bail us out of tech problems and bless us with her love and friendship. Our happiest times are doing things with our families, enjoying hikes, watching old movies, and just hanging out.

Life has brought its challenges, of course, but through it all, God was faithful. Early in my Christian walk, I discovered how his Word spoke to every issue of my life. As I read and studied, I began to take baby steps to act on the truths I was learning. They worked! Those ‘keys’ gave me a foundation of confidence in the Lord that has never left me.

A bit of my background…

  • I was single longer than I expected, but God wrote my love story and gave me the marriage I had hoped and prayed for.
  • After years of disease, infertility, and the heartbreak of miscarriages and deferred hope, God gave us the miracle of a beautiful, healthy daughter.
  • We had the privilege of homeschooling. One day my young daughter said to me, “Mom, I think you like school better than I do!” It was true. We had a remarkable journey, with dividends that are still paying off in our lives.
  • Through seasons of illness, loss of loved ones, major moves and change, and the challenges of caregiving, I came to know that I could trust God’s ways even when I didn’t understand them. Hindsight is indeed 20/20 and I wish I had trusted him more in the struggle times!

Some years ago, I followed God’s call to write. I wanted to encourage other homeschool moms, and so began to write for homeschool magazines. But, other opportunities came, and I had the privilege of being published in several anthologies, including Chicken Soup for New Moms, God Answers Prayers, and Moments with Billy Graham

I’ve also written VBS curricula, devotions, and homeschool educational materials. I’m currently writing a read-aloud devotional for parents to do with their children, Kingdom Keys for Kids. It’s my hope that it will equip parents to teach God’s Word to their kids in a fresh and easy-to-use way. I’ll keep you posted!

God says we are to tell others about the good things he has done for us, so I hope you can find something on these pages to help, encourage, and bless you. Whatever season you’re in, may the Lord fill you to overflowing with his goodness.

He loves you so!
